Art is in the Park is a nature-inspired art adventure with a focus of astronomy. Each program will explore the aspect of the night skies followed by a take home project. Health Nuts is a program that combines environmental and health education. The program is designed to address the obesity epidemic and lack of physical activity. The program ends with the ever popular mud obstacle course, Mud Mania which has been extended to an all day event to accommodate all the families that attend. These programs are offered free and open to the public. |

This project will provide book bags filled with educational materials and will be distributed to children in the one-to-one tutoring program at Madison, Ross, New Miami and Living Waters. This grant will purchase the book bag as well as the materials. The primary goal of the program is to work to improve reading and writing skills, learn letter sound relationships, and improve word recognition and comprehension. Thus improving self-esteem and provide self confidence as readers and give them the motivation to read. For children ages 5-12 years of age. |
