Hamilton Community Foundation

Types of Funds

The Hamilton Community Foundation offers a variety of funds that are flexible to meet your different charitable interests:

Unrestricted funds offer the broadest giving option, allowing our Board of Trustees to respond to the ever-changing needs of our community through our responsive grantmaking program.

Field of Interest funds create grants that meet needs in a particular field or geographic area that is of interest to you.

Designated funds let you support specific organizations while we make sure the grants to these groups remain relevant over time and responsive to changing circumstances.

Donor-Advised funds enable you to recommend specific organizations to receive grants.

Scholarship funds help students pursue academic goals. You may help define your scholarship’s criteria.

Acorn funds allow you to establish a permanent fund by contributing in installments, allowing your fund to grow over time in a tax-free environment.

Organizational Endowment funds are established by nonprofit organizations to provide income to them. We handle all administrative and investment responsibilities, freeing the organization to pursue its charitable mission.

Supporting Organizations allow donors and charitable groups to manage gifts and grants with some similarity to a private foundation.
