Who We Are

2007-2008 Youth Philanthropy
Committee Members

In the Spring of 2005, the Hamilton Community Foundation launched the Youth Philanthropy project. The program was designed to help teach area youth the importance of philanthropy with its primary goal being to teach young people how to raise money for important projects and how to distribute funds to create the greatest impact in the community.

The Youth Philanthropy Committee is responsible for making funding recommendations for grants from the Children’s Home Fund, the Exchange Club Fund, the Stuhlmueller Fund, as well as from unrestricted funds supporting the Foundation’s SummerTime for Kids program.

By involving teens in grantmaking, the Youth Philanthropy Committee, made up of 20-25 area high school students—Badin High School, Hamilton High School, New Miami High School and Ross High School—helps shape tomorrow's civic leaders. With very little guidance from adult advisors, in just a short time this diverse group has made a huge difference in the lives of teenagers in our community. To date, the Youth Philanthropy Committee has awarded more than $50,000 in grants in support of youth programs in the greater Hamilton area.
