Mission
Building a better community through creative philanthropy, vision and leadership.
Vision
Continue to be the trusted resource for growing philanthropy and leading change to improve our community.
Foundation History
The Hamilton Community Foundation was established on Christmas Eve 1951 by a small group of visionary community leaders: Cyrus J. Fitton, William Murstein, Huntington V. Parrish, Frederick A. Reister, Robert M. Sohngen, William J. Wolf, and W. Otis Briggs, Jr. They shared a simple but powerful goal—to create a charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the community and its citizens.
With an initial gift of $5,000 from William Murstein, the Foundation began its journey of growth and service. It took 15 years to reach $500,000 in assets, but the momentum never stopped. Thanks to decades of community support, the Hamilton Community Foundation, along with our affiliates in Ross and Fairfield has expanded its reach and deepened its impact across Butler County.
Today, the spirit of generosity that inspired our founders continues to thrive. Thousands of individuals and organizations across Hamilton, Ross, Fairfield, and beyond partner with us to grow philanthropy, lead change, and build a stronger community for generations to come.
