YPC welcomes new members at annual retreat

August 28, 2018

Each year, the Youth Philanthropy Committee holds an annual retreat to host the new members as well as plan for their upcoming year.  This year, led by YPC president Morgan Mayer, Senior Hamilton High School, the group of 25 had the opportunity to learn more about the exciting things happening in Hamilton.

The day and a half retreat began with lunch, catered by Neil's Barbeque at Rotary Park.  The walking tour of the city took them to the Fitton Cener, Soldiers and Sailors Monument, YMCA, YWCA, the Hamilton Community Foundation to name a few.  The students who attend Hamilton, Badin, Ross and New Miami high schools had the opportunities to learn about the rich history of Hamilton as well as the needs of the youth in the community.

In addition to the more than $50,000 in grant funds they will distribute in 2019, they volunteer their time at area community events and organizations.  Their monthly meetings begin in September and continue until school is out in the spring.  To learn more, https://www.hamiltonfoundation.org/about-us/youth-philanthropy-committee-8/
