Empowering Youth Through Grant Funding
Youth Philanthropy Committee Grants
The Youth Philanthropy Committee (YPC) is a dynamic, student-led grantmaking initiative of the Hamilton Community Foundation that promotes youth engagement in philanthropy and volunteerism.
Composed of students from Badin, Hamilton, New Miami, Ross, and Fairfield High Schools, YPC empowers teens to take an active role in shaping their community. With minimal guidance from adult advisors, these young leaders thoughtfully evaluate grant applications and make funding decisions, building leadership skills and making a real impact in the lives of their peers.
Since its founding in 2005, YPC has awarded nearly $50,000 annually to youth-focused programs and organizations throughout the Hamilton area, supporting initiatives that enrich, educate, and inspire local youth.
We are grateful for the vision of the many donors who have made gifts supporting our Youth Philanthropy program and grantmaking including: Christopher Courtney Memorial Children's Fund, Butler County Children’s Home Fund, the Exchange Club Fund, Melvin J. and Mary Helen Hauser Memorial Fund, Charles and Elizabeth Heitsman Fund, and the Albert Stuhlmueller Memorial Fund.
Funding Priorities
Funding priorities include youth-focused innovative projects that demonstrate collaboration with other organizations and are not a duplication of existing services. YPC gives higher priority to programs/projects that fill a gap in serving underprivileged youth. Preference is also given to projects enriching the lives of students outside the classroom.
