YPC Awards Grant to Purchase Coats for High School Students
Thanks to a $5000 grant from the Youth Philanthropy Committee, students will receive a warm coat this year through the Caring Closet. Opened in 2010, the Caring Closet provides basic necessities to students in the Hamilton School District. What started as a support to students at the elementary level, has now grown to include students at the high school.
It is the Caring Closet’s goal to make sure each child who is referred receives a warm, winter coat so they can safely walk to and from school and participate in recess. Due to expanding to include high school aged students this year, the Caring Closet needed community support to provide warm coats for the older students this upcoming school year. With the support of the Youth Philanthropy Committee, students will be able to address this growing need.
